Au Qebrado: This looks like one of those moves that is difficult to learn, but is easy to do once you get it.  For me, it was difficult to keep my leg straight.  Mine looked more like a meia lua queda de rins than anything else.

Friday; February 11, 2011 Part 2

7:30 class:

Rasteiras.  Watch the game develop, see the opponents moves and play your own game.  When the kick comes, then you make your move.  Go in with the rasteria, then pull back.

Sometimes when you can't see your opponent, you have to kick anyway.  You make your opponent esquiva to dodge your kick.  You can't be worried about not seeing them for the brief moment it takes to find them again through your leg, you just kick.

Quadras.  I need to work on memorizing my quadras.  I also need some work on singing them while playing the berimbau.

Introduction:

A new beginning.  A record of training, meant to maintain my motivation, as well as keep track of maneuvers and techniques learned in class.  A depository for quadras, corridos, and other lyrics I learn.

A new way to manage my progress.
